Privacy policy
Your personal information, explained clearly.

Who is responsible
Science In Performance, led by Dr Christopher Fennell, is the controller for personal information collected through this website and in delivering coaching services. Privacy questions and rights requests can be submitted through the website contact form by writing “privacy request” in the goal field.
What is collected
The public enquiry form collects your name, email address, primary sport, main goal and preferred programme. The cancellation form collects your name, email address, postal address, selected service, booking date, cancellation-notice date and any booking reference you provide. If you proceed, Science In Performance may also collect contact details, training history, availability, competition plans, performance data, physiological test results, injury or health information you choose to provide, consultation notes, communications and payment or invoice records. The public forms should not be used to send detailed medical information.
Why it is used
Your information is used to respond to enquiries, assess service suitability, arrange consultations, create and adapt programmes, review training, deliver testing or performance support, administer the coaching relationship, issue invoices, maintain records and meet legal obligations. It is not used for testimonials, case studies or direct marketing without separate permission.
Lawful basis
Information is processed where necessary to take steps at your request before a contract, perform a coaching or testing contract, meet legal obligations, or pursue legitimate interests in safe service delivery, administration, security and resolving queries. Where special-category health information is relevant, it is processed with your explicit consent or another lawful condition that applies. You may withdraw consent, although this does not affect earlier lawful processing.
Services and sharing
Information may be processed using trusted providers needed to operate the service, including website hosting, secure form delivery and storage, email, TrainingPeaks, scheduling, payment, accounting and document-storage services. Relevant information may also be shared with a named practitioner supporting you, but only with your knowledge and where appropriate. Information is not sold. Some providers may process information outside the UK; where this occurs, recognised safeguards are relied upon.
Security and retention
Reasonable organisational and technical measures are used to protect personal information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Enquiries that do not proceed are normally deleted after 12 months. Coaching, testing, contractual, financial and safeguarding records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary for service continuity, legal claims, insurance, tax or regulatory obligations, then securely deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy of your information, or withdraw consent. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and analytics
The current site does not use advertising cookies or marketing analytics. Essential technologies may be used to operate security, forms and site functionality. If non-essential analytics or marketing technologies are introduced, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated first.
Updates to this notice
This notice may be updated when services, providers or legal requirements change. The latest version will remain available on this page with its revision date.
