Programme-Specific Terms & Conditions
Last updated 30 September 2026
View the full programmeAbout these terms
These programme-specific terms apply to the additional services included within the Science In Performance Private Performance Partnership. Read them alongside the general Science In Performance Terms & Conditions, Privacy Notice and your individual coaching agreement. They supplement those documents and do not replace their payment, cancellation, privacy or liability provisions. The order of precedence in the general Terms continues to apply. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
Programme fee
The Private Performance Partnership is priced at £750 per month, subject to the payment, cancellation and billing provisions in your individual agreement and the general Terms & Conditions. The price and arrangements applicable to your agreement are confirmed in writing when your booking is accepted. This public programme information does not change an existing athlete’s agreed subscription or billing.
Primary UK A-race support
The programme includes direct coach support at one agreed primary A-priority race in the United Kingdom. You and your coach will identify the principal event together. Attendance is subject to reasonable coach availability and confirmation of the event. Please share your A-race, race calendar and support requirements as early as reasonably practical; a requested date is not reserved until confirmed.
If your preferred A-race clashes with one of the coach’s own pre-existing competition events, an unavoidable professional commitment or another previously confirmed commitment that prevents attendance, attendance at that event cannot be guaranteed. The included support will transfer to another mutually agreed UK event relevant to your performance objectives, subject to availability. A scheduling clash does not automatically remove your included support.
If you change your target A-race, notify your coach as early as reasonably possible. Support at the replacement event must be reviewed and confirmed, subject to availability; it is not automatically guaranteed at short notice.
What race support includes
The scope is agreed around the event and your requirements. Where appropriate, it may include pre-race preparation, strategic discussion, race-day observation, performance support, agreed athlete logistics and a post-race debrief with performance observations.
Support is subject to the organiser’s rules, access restrictions, accreditation requirements and practical venue limits. Access to restricted areas cannot be promised. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, you remain responsible for your race entry, travel, accommodation, equipment transportation, licences, insurance and race-specific personal expenses.
International and additional race support
Direct coach support at international events can be arranged separately where availability permits. Reasonable coach travel and accommodation costs are additional to the monthly programme fee. The scope, travel arrangements and associated costs must be mutually agreed before commitments or bookings are made.
Race-day support beyond the single included primary UK event may also be arranged subject to availability. The separate rate, scope and any necessary travel or accommodation costs will be agreed before the service is confirmed. No additional race-support price is assumed by these terms.
Physiological testing entitlement
The programme includes four Lactate Threshold and/or VO₂max physiological assessments per calendar year. This means four total assessment appointments, not four of each test type. The balance of assessments is agreed around your performance needs, stage of the season, previous results and objectives.
Testing forms part of your longitudinal performance profile: each assessment helps track adaptation and inform coaching decisions alongside training and competition evidence.
Canterbury laboratory and alternative UK locations
The principal physiological testing location is the Science In Performance laboratory in Canterbury, UK. Where practical and agreed in advance, testing may take place at another suitable UK location selected by you.
An alternative venue must be confirmed as suitable for a valid assessment, including its space, accessibility, electrical and environmental conditions, safety and equipment requirements. Delivery also depends on coach availability and whether the required equipment can be transported or made available and used appropriately. Some assessments may only be practicable at the Canterbury laboratory; your coach may recommend Canterbury to preserve safe testing and data quality.
Testing dates and appointments
Assessment dates are planned collaboratively around your season, testing requirements and available appointments. Specific requested dates cannot be guaranteed until confirmed; we will work together to find mutually suitable dates for the included testing.
If an agreed appointment cannot proceed for reasons attributable to Science In Performance, we will contact you and use reasonable efforts to arrange a suitable replacement date or agree an appropriate alternative. An undelivered assessment is not simply recorded as completed.
International physiological support
Physiological testing or related physiological performance support may be provided outside the United Kingdom where practical and mutually agreed. Provision depends on coach availability, appropriate testing conditions, equipment and logistical feasibility, and applicable travel requirements.
Associated coach travel and accommodation costs are additional to the monthly fee and must be mutually agreed in advance under the travel-cost provisions below.
Travel arrangements and additional costs
For international race support and physiological support, travel-related costs may include transport, flights, rail, local transport, accommodation and necessary equipment transport. Any additional cost must be agreed before it is incurred. Where practical, the anticipated amount or agreed method of calculation will be confirmed in writing before bookings or commitments are made. These terms do not authorise retrospective, unspecified or automatically charged additions.
Event changes and travel disruption
If an organiser cancels, postpones or materially changes an event, your included race-support entitlement will not automatically be treated as used solely because the original event did not take place. We will discuss transferring support to the rescheduled event or another mutually agreed event, subject to availability.
If travel or attendance becomes impossible because of cancelled flights, severe weather, transport disruption, event relocation, border or travel restrictions, or other circumstances outside either party’s reasonable control, we will work in good faith to reschedule, transfer or reasonably adapt the affected service.
Any treatment of separately purchased travel, accommodation or third-party costs will take account only of actual, previously agreed committed costs and the relevant supplier’s refund rules. These provisions do not authorise retaining payment irrespective of the service delivered or limit any applicable statutory remedy.
Private strength & conditioning
The programme includes two private 1:1 strength and conditioning sessions per month in Canterbury, UK. Sessions are individually coached, appointment-based, integrated with your wider endurance programme and adapted to your current performance needs. Dates are subject to agreed scheduling.
The existing Science In Performance S&C booking and cancellation terms disclosed for your booking, your coaching agreement and the general Terms apply. Please give as much notice as possible if an appointment needs to change. Any applicable cancellation charge must have been clearly disclosed and must be consistent with the general Terms and your statutory rights. These supplementary terms introduce no separate cancellation fee, automatic forfeiture or blanket non-refundable appointment rule.
Athlete responsibilities and readiness
Please provide accurate relevant information, communicate promptly, arrive appropriately prepared for testing and S&C, follow communicated pre-test and reasonable session instructions, and complete required screening. Disclose material health or other changes that may affect safe testing or training. Maintain the required event entry and notify your coach promptly of material schedule or event changes, including a change to your target A-race.
Physiological testing and S&C are subject to appropriate screening and readiness. Science In Performance may postpone or discontinue an assessment or session where there are reasonable safety concerns and will discuss suitable next steps with you. This does not exclude liability for negligence.
Coaching and performance testing are not medical diagnosis, medical treatment or a substitute for medical assessment. Obtain appropriate medical advice where required.
Test results, interpretation and privacy
Where applicable, physiological results form part of your Performance Lab and coaching record. Data handling remains governed by the existing Privacy Notice, Performance Lab permissions and athlete-data controls; these terms create no separate privacy policy.
Results are interpreted within your wider performance profile and are not isolated guarantees of performance. Where technically appropriate, records retain the testing date, protocol, relevant equipment and protocol details, conditions and coach interpretation.
Care, skill and performance outcomes
Science In Performance will provide the services forming part of the Private Performance Partnership with reasonable care and skill. Coaching, testing and race support are designed to support preparation and performance, but no specific competition result, physiological adaptation, qualification, placing or performance outcome can be guaranteed.
Event participation carries inherent sporting risks, and you remain responsible for decisions about your participation. The general liability provisions continue to apply. Nothing in these supplementary terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or affects your statutory rights.
Additional services and programme changes
Additional physiological tests, S&C sessions, race support and international services beyond the included provision may be offered by mutual agreement. Their scope and cost must be confirmed before you commit; they are not charged automatically.
Any material change to the monthly price, S&C entitlement, physiological testing entitlement or included race support must follow the applicable agreement, general Terms and consumer-law requirements. These terms do not give Science In Performance an unrestricted right to remove included services.
Cancellation and statutory rights
Cancellation rights, notice requirements and any statutory cooling-off rights are governed by your coaching agreement and the general Science In Performance Terms & Conditions. Their provisions for qualifying distance or off-premises service contracts, including the applicable 14-day cancellation period and a separate express request to begin service during that period, remain in place.
Nothing in these programme-specific terms affects your statutory rights. For questions about the programme or how these terms apply to your arrangements, contact [email protected].
